Deacon Jack Simmons, 71, of Webster, FL transitioned to his Heavenly home on Friday, October 19, 2012. He was born Saturday, January 18, 1941 to Reverend Jack & Eva Luster Simmons, Sr. of Pomona Park. Deacon Simmons was a self-employed Labor Contractor. He gave his life to Christ 20 years ago and has served faithfully until his demise. He served on many ministries at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Webster. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his brothers; Willie Charles Simmons; Milton Simmons; J.C. Simmons; sisters; Christine Simmons Turner; Evamae Simmons Davis. Those who treasure his legacy: loving and devoted wife; Mrs. Diane C. Simmons; three sons, Terry Lee Simmons, Lazzary Mobley, Harlem Turner; seven daughters; Patricia Washington, Catherine Merritt, Shelia Simmons (Perry) Richardson, Wendy (James) Butler, Hildagrade Simmons, Contessa (Eric) Jasper, Felicia (Pedro) Davila, 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; brother, Willie Lee "Buddy" (Mamie) Simmons, Pomona Park and a host of other relatives and caring friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 6 -8 p.m., Friday, October 26th and The Homegoing Celebration will be 1 p.m., Saturday, October 27th, at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 133 County Road 730, Webster. Reverend Roy Mitchell is the eulogist. Interment will be in South Sumter Evergreen Cemetery, Bushnell.
