February 1, 1956 – December 3, 2011
David Brown, Jr., 55, of Palatka entered the sunset of life on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at his residence following a brief illness. The son of David and Lenna (Winn) Brown, Sr., he was a native of Riceboro, GA., born on Wednesday, February 1, 1956. He was educated in Liberty County Georgia School District. He was employed by Florida Furniture Industries, Palatka for nine years and later by Epicor Ideal for eight years, retiring due to declining health. David was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan, loved spending time with his family especially his twin-sons, and enjoyed listening to music and cooking.
Those who will cherish his memories: devoted companion of 13 years; Tangie M. McDuffy, Palatka; daughter and sons, especially Zuma Brown, Palatka; (twin-sons) Majiyah and Cajiyah Brown, Palatka; aunts and uncles, Johnny Winn, Palatka; Bessie Roberts (Albert), Miami; Henry Lee Clancy, Tampa; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2011 at "The Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing Celebration will be 11 a.m., Saturday, December 10th, at "The Chapel of Serenity." Minister Eddie L. Allen, associate minister of Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, is the eulogist.
Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
