Darrell Lamar "Hayes" Rasher, Sr., 51, lifelong resident of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at his residence. The son of Rebecca Rasher and Lonnie Small, he was born on Tuesday, December 29, 1964. He was a 1982 graduate of Palatka High School and was an outstanding student athlete. He played Quarterback (#6) on Palatka High School's 1981 State AAA Championship football team. Darrell was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. He was employed as a drywall specialist for many years at Parrish Drywall and subsequently at Synergy Construction. "Hayes" as he was affectionately known was an avid sports fan who worked hard and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in eternal rest by his son, Darrell "Dee" Rasher and uncle, Raymond "Dill" Rasher.

He leaves to cherish his memories: devoted mother, Rebecca Rasher, Palatka ; father, Lonnie Small, Atlanta, GA; children, Crystal Rasher, Jacksonville; Darrell "D.J." Rasher, Tallahassee; Darrell "Lil Hayes" Rasher, Sanjaia Luke Rose, Palatka; brothers, Reginald (Mushawna) Rasher, Sr., Andre; Rasher, Sr., both of Palatka; Derrick (Niki) Rasher, Sr., Pensacola; sister , Constance (Lutrell) Smith, Sr., Palatka; 5 grandchildren, Jayvon Cody, Jayla Fullwood, both of Jacksonville; Brianna Hires, Tampa; Jaylah Rasher, Palatka; Jacoby Rasher, Tallahassee; aunts and uncles, Rutha Mae Young, Bessie Riley, Roxbury, MA; Arbanna Rasher, Palatka; nieces and nephews, Shaleah Rasher, Reginald Rasher, Jr., Andrea Rasher, Lutrell, Smith, Jr., Derrick Rasher, Jr., Andre' Rasher, Jr., Zakariyah Rasher, Lavarus Smith, Sharlon Rasher; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, May 13 at Flagg's Chapel of Serenity. Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 14, at Calvary Family Life Center, Reverend Frederick T. Demps, Pastor. Elder Alonzo Mulberry, III, Pastor of Soul Mission Church of God in Christ, is the eulogist.
