Darrell Keith Reese, 58, of Seville, entered the sunset of life on Friday, February 11, 2022 at AdventHealth-Deland. A native of Deland, son of Lula Reese and James Gillins, he was born on Monday, August 26, 1963. He attended Taylor High School. He was a member of Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church where he served as a Church Steward. Darrell was a "jack of all trades" who held numerous jobs. He was a trucker and handyman who also worked in construction and lawn maintenance. His hobbies included driving trucks, eating out and spending time with family and friends, especially his prized-puppy, Max.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his brothers, Eddie Foster and Terrence Gillins.
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughters , Trae Reese, Crescent City; Taniah & Shaniah Johnson, both of Valdosta, GA; brothers , Larry Jacobs, Isaiah Gillins, Ronnie Gillins, Gregory Reese, Gerald Foster, Jermaine Allen, John Allen, Corey Foster, and Jamara Gillins; sisters, Marie Rolle, Demetris Golden, Shannice Gillins, and Regina Gillins; stepmother , Judy Gillins ; godson ; Kahil Gillon; devoted friend , Patricia Smith and her daughter, Destiny; aunts, Pearl "peaches" Griffin, Idella Reese, Bernice Reese, Pearl Reese, Jean Reese; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, February 18 at St. Johns Missionary Baptist Church, 1835 Barton Street, Seville. Celebration of Darrell's Life will be 2 p.m., Saturday, February 19 at the Fellowship Hall of Howe Memorial United Methodist Church, 252 S. Summit Street, Crescent City. Rev. Dr. Jacqueline Moore, Associate Minister, St. Mark's A.M.E. Church, Orlando, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Ward Chapel Methodist Cemetery, Seville.
