Obituary

Pastor Darletha Roberts Lewis, 85, peacefully entered eternal rest on Friday, December 22, 2023 at UF Flagler Hospital, St. Augustine, surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of Collie, Sr. and Queen Eve Roberts, she was born on Monday, October 24, 1938, in Surrency, GA. She was educated in the Appling County GA School District. In 1955, she met the love of her life, Jimmie Lewis, whom she affectionately called "Jim". Their union flourished with nine children.

Pastor Lewis (also known as "Doll") diligently worked alongside her husband for the Thigpen Family Farm. She became an Agricultural Specialist at the UF Agricultural Center (formerly the Experiment Center). For over two decades, Pastor Lewis was employed by the St. Augustine General Hospital in the Environmental Services Department. She loved to prepare meals for the community and made donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital and St. Gerard House of St. Augustine. She also enjoyed fishing with family and friends.

Pastor Lewis accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at 28 years of age. She served as a Missionary under the leadership of Supt. John Henry Pompey. She embodied the qualities of a Proverbs 31 woman, never abandoning the needs of her family; and still fulfilling her God-given assignment. Her legacy of living sanctified serves as a testimony.

In 1988, the Holy Church of Zion, Inc. was founded in Armstrong, FL by Supt. Jimmie and Missionary Darletha Lewis. They passionately co-served in the ministry. She fully supported her husband's vision as First Lady for 30 years. Following his demise, she accepted the charge to serve as Senior Pastor of the Holy Church of Zion, Inc. Pastor Darletha Roberts Lewis was privileged to serve five years until her assignment here on earth was completed.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in eternal rest by her brothers: Ulysess Roberts, Collie Roberts Jr.; grandchildren: Sanjena Latrice Carter, Eric Brent Felder, Jr.

To cherish her memories: daughters: Patricia Robinson, Scarlet (Jerome, Sr.) Carter, Carolyn Simpson, Evangelist Kim Lewis Felder; sons: Jimmie Lee Lewis, Jr., Andrew (Lois) Lewis, Sr., Elder Ricky Lewis, Sr., Isaiah Lewis, Sr., Terrant (Christy) Lewis; 31 grandchildren; 76 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; sisters: Sweetie Mae Brown, Cordelia Fosten; sisters-in-law: Doretha Lewis Hunter, Evangelist Lillie Freeman, Rosa Washington; brothers-in-law: Joseph (Gwen) Lewis, Dr. Sammy Tomblin, Sylvester (Mary) Tomblin Sr., Calvin (Dora) Lewis, George (Lisa) Alexander; spiritual sons: Elder Benjamin R.
