Darius Jarrod "Big D" Edwards, 21, of Crescent City, entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at UF & Shands Health Medical Center in Gainesville. A lifelong resident of Crescent City, Darius was a native of Daytona Beach, born on Sunday, July 31, 1994. He was a 2014 graduate of Crescent City High School and a football athlete. Darius was a lifelong member of Crescent City House of God Church. He would purposefully sit at the entrance of the sanctuary because he enjoyed being a "doorkeeper in the house of God." The Seattle Seahawks was his favorite NFL team. He was very humble and loved everyone. Darius was preceded in eternal rest by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Florence Edwards. He leaves to cherish his memories: parents, Lawrence W. Edwards and Beatrice "Carla" Bush; brother, Lawrence C. Edwards; maternal grandparents, Jary (Goler) Hardy and Lemar Evans; uncles, Marcus (Kim) Hardy, Queston "Tate" (Cherise) Hardy, Sr.; aunts, Charlotte (Jeffery) Dillard; all of Crescent City; Alice Myers, Jacksonville; godparents, Joe (Jessie) Ledbetter; Crescent City; and a host of great aunts & uncles, cousins, god-brothers and god-sisters, other relatives, and friends.
