Obituary

Daniel Allen Neal, 79, of Crescent City, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Haven Hospice, Robert's Care Center, Palatka.  The son of Zane "Jack" Neal and Ada Lou Cole, he was born on November 30, 1941. He was raised a navy brat and lived in numerous cities in Florida, and spent a year or two in Connecticut and Rhode Island. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force after high school and served honorably for six years, spending time in Thailand during the Vietnam War.

Following his military service, he was employed by Adolf Coors, Golden, CO.  Upon returning to Florida he went to work with his father and brother at Neal's Electronics & Appliance shop. He eventually purchased the business from his father and changed the name to the Village TV & Appliance in DeBary.   He also sold automobiles at several dealerships.  Lastly, Dan went to work as an over the road trucker in 1996 and retired from Crete Carrier Corporation in 2008.

He considered himself a lifelong Floridian with a few brief years in Fort Collins, CO and Syracuse, NY. In 2016, he moved back to Florida from New York and resided in Crescent City with his wife.  He attended South Putnam Church in Crescent City. Dan enjoyed fishing, cooking, cars, golf, and reading. But, his favorite thing was sharing his life with Cheryl.

In addition to his parents, "Dan" was preceded in eternal rest by his sister, Suzette (Joe) Vacula and grandson, Joshua Emanuel.

He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Cheryl Lowery Neal; son, Daniel Neal, Becker, TX; daughters, Dana (Tom) Zanone, Cool, CA; Leslie (Ron) Ludeman, Orange City, FL; Lisa (James) Emanuel, DeBary; brother, Micheal (Ruth) Neal, Deltona; sister, Tina (Ron) Zalva, Dade City; 4 grandchildren, Leigh (Laura) Zanone, Katie (Andrew) Zanone Hill, Ashley Emanuel, and Dylan Becker; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
