Dan C.
Anderson, Jr.
December 28, 1964 – April 3, 2026
Dan Clarence Anderson, Jr., the son of Dan Clarence Anderson, Sr. and Theetis George, was born on Monday, December 28, 1964. He was a native of Jacksonville (Baldwin), FL and educated in the Duval County Public School District. He was a proud alumnus of Baldwin Jr.-Sr. High School, and continued his pursuit of education at Florida A&M University, Tallahassee, FL. Dan was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, College Park, Georgia. He enjoyed watching and attending football games. Dan spent his career of over forty years in automotive sales and vehicle repossession.
Dan was a man of brilliance and charm, known for his quick wit, engaging conversations, and larger-than-life personality. He never met a stranger and had a way of turning ordinary moments into lasting memories. Bold, expressive, and unapologetically opinionated, Dan brought a vibrant spirit into every room he entered. His joy for life was contagious, and his impact on others was both deep and enduring.
Now a Fallen Rattler, Dan held a special place in his heart for Florida A&M University. Whether as a football player, (#66), or cheering for FAMU football, feeling the rhythm of the legendary Marching 100, those moments were more than traditions—they were a reflection of his pride, passion, and connection to the Rattler community.
Above all, Dan was a family man. He found his greatest joy in being surrounded by loved ones, especially during family reunions where laughter, storytelling, and togetherness filled the air. His love was strong, his presence unforgettable, and his role as husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather were deeply cherished.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his brother, Donald Collins; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Anderson; and mother-in-law, Eleanor Frances Elliott Jones.
His earthly transition occurred on Friday, April 3, 2026 at Emory Hospital-Midtown, Atlanta, Georgia. He lived a life full of energy, love, and undeniable presence—a life that will continue to echo in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memories: devoted wife, Tracy F. Johnson Anderson; children, Dioncenette Grey, Jamie F. Johnson, Terrance D. Anderson, Elliott J. (Samantha) Anderson, and Ellyce C. (Fatima Cooper) Anderson; beloved grandchildren, Tanee Robinson, Shekinah Wilson, Dashia Wilson, Michael Wilson, and Averi A. Johnson; numerous great grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Jackie) Collins, Lorenzo (Lori) Collins; sisters, Shirley (Hollis) Collins, Phyllis (Will) Phillips, Larzetta Daniels, Sonja Bryant; along with a host of extended family and friends, including special family members, Ann E.A. Williams, LaTroy Antonio (Jacqueline) Williams, who will forever celebrate his life and legacy.
Though Dan has taken his rest, his spirit lives on—in every shared story, every laugh, every family gathering, and every beat of a marching band that plays on. His life was a celebration, and his memory will forever be one.
