Obituary

Cynthia A. Maxwell, the youngest daughter of the late Mongolian and Elmira Sanders, entered the dawn of her life on Tuesday, June 21, 1949. She grew up in Miami's Liberty City neighborhood. She received her education at Poinciana Park Elementary, Dorsey Junior High, and Miami Jackson Senior High.  Annett continued her education in nursing and worked as a private-duty nurse for many years before becoming a stay-at-home mom to her growing family which included former husband, Robert "Bob" Frazier, sons, Sigfrid Johnson and Michael Frazier, and daughter, Robbin Frazier.

Annett, as she was affectionately called, loved traveling, watching football, dancing, cooking, and trash-talking. She especially loved taking care of others and exposing those she loved to different experiences and the finer things in life beyond what they thought they could do such as:  family vacations to theme parks, lavish parties, designer fashions and even driving on the expressway to Palatka, Florida, the family's homestead.

"We could always push the envelope with Auntie," recalls niece, Phyllis "Peaches" Nelson.  "We would always get away with a little more with Auntie than with our parents."

Annett was the LIFE of the party, a free spirit, and unapologetic.

After moving to Palatka, Annett married her love, G.B. Maxwell.

In her retirement, taking care of others remained her main focus. Annett continued traveling far and wide often to take care of her nieces and nephews like they were her grandchildren. If you needed your living space organized and styled, Annett would not hesitate to help.  When she was home in Palatka, "Miss Annett," (as the neighborhood kids called her) was also the Candy Lady.  Her home was always a safe haven and resting place for anyone who needed it. On any given day, you might find coon or gopher turtle simmering in a pot on the stove and on Thanksgiving Day, the most delicious dressing you ever tasted.

Whether you knew her as Mom, Grandma, Sister, Auntie, or Annett, you felt her infectious energy in person, on the phone, at the party, and in all caps on Facebook. That is what will be missed the most.

Cynthia A. Maxwell entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 surrounded by her family at her residence.  She joined her great cloud of witnesses (Hebrews 12:1) that include: husband: G.B.
