Curtis Dean Davis Holcy was born in Palatka, Florida, on Wednesday, July 14, 1965 to Samuel Maitland Fells and Frankie Mae (Holcy) Mincey. Curtis was a 1988 graduate of Palatka High School. He was employed with Hydro Aluminum as a laborer. "Sluggo" was an avid sports fan and enjoyed frequent visits to the beach and the river. He was a member of Word of God Unity of God Church. He had a special love for people, especially his family. Curtis' favorite saying was "I Love Ya, I Love Ya Now!" He was preceded in eternal rest by his: Father: Samuel Maitland Fells; Grandparents: Aaron & Hattie Fells, William Harris, Sr., Virginia Harris, Millard Davis Sr., Elsie Davis, & Frank Holcy Brothers: Maitland Wilson Fells, Ronald "Ricky" Fells, Sr.; Uncles: Eugene Fells, Sr., Horatio "Stack" Fells, Johnny Holcy, Sr., Arthur Holcy, Tommy Holcy; Aunts: Claudia Fells, Doris M. Young, Doris Manuel. Curtis entered the sunset of life at 5:36 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2013 at UF Heath Shands Hospital, Gainesville, Florida. Those who cherish his memories: Mother: Pastor Frankie Davis (Ronald) Mincey, Palatka; Father: Millard "Snicker" Davis, Jr., Palatka; Son: Bradley Jaydin Holcy, Palatka; Sisters & Brothers: Kassandra "Kay" Fells, Hillside, NJ; Willie L. Wright, Sr., Orlando; Ronald Mabry, Palatka; Wendy Fells, Simi Valley, CA; Carl (Gwen) Holcy, Hopkins, SC; Beverly Robinson, Ocala; Rachel (Domanic) Gaines, Palatka; Special Sister: Angela Williams, Palatka; Sister-in-law: Ella Brown Fells, Palatka; Like a brother/bestfriend, Calvester Jones, Palatka; Great Aunt: Prophetess Lula Peoples, Palatka; Aunts: Apostle Cora B. Fells, Palatka, Apostle M. L. Thomas, Palatka, Pastor Dorothy (Reginald) Moody, Interlachen, Jerlene (Vincent) Perry, Satsuma, Gale Harris (Kenneth) Black, Pomona Park; Erica Harris; Henrietta Harris Johnson, Orlando; uncles; William H. Harris, Jr., Jimmy L. Harris, Sr., both of Palatka, Godparents: Kathy (John) Melton, Palatka and a host of other relatives and caring friends. Visitation of family and friends will be held 5 - 8 p.m. Friday, November 29 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity". Homegoing Celebration will be held 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Reverend Karl N. Flagg, Pastor. Elder Alonzo Mulberry, Pastor of Soul Mission Church of God In Christ, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Palatka Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
