Obituary

Curlease Rambert Williams, 98, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Putnam Community Medical Center, Palatka. The daughter of Rosa Sanders and George Rambert, she was born on Saturday, February 2, 1918 in Holly Hill, SC. At the age of two, she was adopted by her grandmother, Mary Walker, due to the untimely transition of her mother. In the early 1920s, the family relocated to Chiefland, where she was educated in the Levy County School District. In 1936, she relocated to Palatka and in 1941, she met and married, Houston Williams, Sr. She was the proud mother of eight children. Curlease was employed at the former Palatka Box Factory and was a longtime homemaker for several families, especially the Hancock family. Sister Curlease began her spiritual connection with the House of God Church, Keith Dominion in Pompano Beach and Ocala, while with her grandmother. She was a longtime member (over 50 years) of the Palatka House of God Church, serving faithfully under several Pastors as a Sunday School Teacher, Church Secretary, Treasurer, and Financial Secretary, etc. Sister Curlease was appointed as a Trial Deaconess by the late Elder R.A. Bentley and was responsible for submitting reports to the State and General Assemblies of the House of God Church. She loved cooking and baking. One of her favorite quotes was "A still tongue carries a wise head." Curlease was a sweet, loving, witty person and an excellent listener who always provided Godly advice.

In addition to her parents, Curlease was preceded in eternal rest by her: son, Lonnie Johnson; daughter, Myrtle M. McKinney; grandson, Kenneth T. Williams; brother, George Rambert, Jr.
