Countess W. Horton, 58, entered the sunset of life on Monday, January 9, 2023, in Atlanta, GA. She was a native of Palatka, born on Tuesday, September 1, 1964.  After graduating from Woodward High School in 1983, Countess attended Georgia Southern and Georgia State University, where she focused her studies on Finance and Accounting. She took immense pride in her work at Publix Super Markets, where she worked for ten years before retiring.  Countess was a member of Cascade United Methodist Church, Atlanta. She loved her family, tennis, and making people laugh.

She leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Curtis Horton; daughter, Carla D. Williams; granddaughter, Aniya; mother Gloria W. Willis; brother, H. Lamar Willis; sister Jacquelyn L. Marshall; a host of aunts, nieces and nephews and cousins.

Celebration of Countess Life will be 11 a.m., Monday, January 16 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Her aunt, Reverend Dr. Geraldine Williams McClellan, Retired Pastor, Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Gainesville, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
