Corotha Sylvester "CJ" Heyward, Jr., 61, of Conyers, GA, entered the sunset of life on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Piedmont Newton Hospital, Covington, GA. The son of Corotha, Sr. and Florence Heyward, he was born on Sunday, May 22, 1960, in Monks Corner, SC. He graduated from Lafayette High School and furthered his education at Kingsborough Community College, Brooklyn, NY. He obtained his commercial driver's license (CDL). One of his major accomplishments was driving his truck to Mexico and 48 of the 50 states in America. In 2011, he relocated to Conyers, GA and joined the Way of Yahweh synagogue. On December 12, 2012, Corotha married his childhood sweetheart, Shelia Shepard. Corotha loved to cook, tell jokes, drive and spend quality time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, parents, and stepfather, Corotha was preceded in eternal rest by his brother-in-law, Michael Brothers.

He leaves to cherish his memories: sisters, Mattie (Jose) Heyward, Lurline Brothers; brother, Larry (Julie) Campbell; nieces and nephews, Mary, Sylvester, Conzuella, Daniel, Tekeisha (Larry), Antwan (Whitney), Travis (Shatavia), Kimariah, Nicolette, Alana; and a host of grand- nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Public Visitation: 11 a.m., with a Celebration of Corotha's Life commencing at 12 noon, Tuesday, December 21 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity," Palatka. Rev. Derek Jackson, officiating. Interment will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Karl N. Flagg Serenity Memorial Chapel.
