Obituary

Cornelius Thaddeaus White, Sr., 69, of Deland, entered the sunset of life on Friday, June 23, 2023 at his residence. The son of Ruben Jack White and Mae Bell White, he was born on Monday, September 7, 1953 in Crescent City.  At an early age, he surrendered his life to the Lord and was baptized with the Holy Ghost.  His formal education was attained in the Putnam County School District and he was a graduate of Middleton Senior High School.  He lived in Deland for the majority of his adult life.  For many years, he was employed in the fern and construction industries.  Fishing was his favorite hobby.  White's church-home, The House of God Church - Keith Dominion, is where he received spiritual nutrition and faithfully served for many years.

White is remembered by family as being a generous, compassionate and a comedic individual.  He admonished his family both near and far.  His nieces and nephews affectionately referred to him as "Uncle Bassie". Lending a helping hand to those in need was always his priority and his nieces and nephews often recalled that about him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his brothers, Willie Sylvester White, Sr.. Billy Ray White, Aaron White, James Otis White, Reuben Jack White, Jr.; sisters, Ruby Lee Trammell, Lillian Louise Kennell, Dorothy Ann Williams, Hattie Mae Gillard.
