Evangelist Constance "Connie" Harris-Gilyard, 58, of Bunnell, entered the sunset of life Monday, March 8, 2021, at her residence.  A native and lifelong resident of Espanola and the daughter of Rodester Harris Sr., and Rosetta Godwin-Harris, "Connie" was born on Sunday, April 22, 1962. She was educated in the Flagler County School District and a 1980 graduate of Flagler Palm Coast High School. "Connie" was a member and served as an Evangelist at Unity of God-Word of God Church in Palatka under the pastoral leadership of Dr. M. L. Thomas. She was a long-time employ ee of Thomas & Betts Corporation serving for over 30 years.  She enjoyed worshiping and traveling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her grandson, Nehemiah Gilyard on February 14, 2021.

She leaves to cherish her memories: husband , Sim Kelvin Gilyard, lll; children , Sim (Calandra) Gilyard, IV, Rosetta M. Harris, Sonja (Willie) Harris-Borom, Nicki N. Gilyard, Cedric McKay; grandchildren , Kanya Gilyard, Malakai Grant, Malyshia Cooler, Elyjah Gilyard, Cornelius Davis, Coron Davis, Devaughn McMillon; brothers , Rodester Harris, Jr., Jason Harris, Robert Bennett; sisters , Deborah (Charlie) Bass, Angela Harris, Kimberly Harris, Holly Harris, Judy Walker (Hayward); devoted grandmother , Martha Harris; mother-in-law, Willie Retha Gilyard; sisters-in law , Janice Gilyard, Sheila (Ronald) Bellamy, Trish (Kenneth) Crudup; "like a sister," Susan "Sue" Wilson; special friends , Beverly Robinson, Meme Turner, and Artis Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines (including required masks) a socially-distanced visitation of family and friends will be 6-7 p.m., Friday, March 19 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 108 Knox Jones Rd, Bunnell (Espanola), Dr. Frank Giddens, host pastor. Homegoing Celebration will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 20 at the North Campus Pavilion of the Palm Coast United Methodist Church, 6500 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast, FL Rev. Kevin M. James, Sr., host pastor.  Dr. M.L. Thomas, Pastor of Unity of God -Word of God Church, Palatka, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Masonic Cemetery, Palm Coast.
