Constance "Connie" Diane (Elkins) Williams Brummitt, 71, of Sanford, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Lake Monroe Hospital, Sanford. The daughter of Willie Elkins, Jr. and Margie Sanders-Elkins, she was born on Thursday, April 2, 1953 in Cross City. Constance was educated in the Putnam County School District and a 1972 graduate of Palatka Central High School. She attended Santa Fe Community College where she received her Nursing Assistant credentials. Constance worked in the medical field for twenty-three years. Constance became a member of The Palatka House of God Church under the leadership of Elder R.A. Bentley at a young age.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in eternal rest by her son, Keafer "Shawn" Medlock; daughter Lamieh Thomas; father, Willie Elkins, Jr.; brothers, Cleveland Timmons and Quilla Elkins.
She leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Darryl Brummitt of Orlando; son, Cecil (Shonda) Thomas, Jr., Palm Coast; daughter, Omega (Andre) Smith, Deltona; step-daughter, Angel (Odom) Gaines-Dingle, Atlanta, GA; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; mother, Margie Elkins, Palatka; sisters, Dorothy (David) Wright, Barbara (Gus) Elkins-Wright, both of Palatka; Mary Anderson, Cross City; brother, James Baskin, Pensacola; god-daughter, Felicia (Timothy) Kee; great aunt, Carrie Bell Sanders Jefferson, Charleston, SC; aunt, Phyllis (Herman) Dorsett-Banes, Miami; nieces, Satonya Wright, Jacksonville; Lafonda Elkins, Sanford; Sabrina Wright, Shanti Wright, both of Palatka; nephews, Cleveland Timmons, Texas; Octavious Graves, Ke'Shawn Russell, both of Palatka; Devin Canty, Sanford; sisters-in-law; Jeldon Brummitt, Daytona Beach; Sylvia Sakes, Deborah Brummitt-Smith, Sabrina (Corey) Knight, Alecia Brummitt and Shalonda Chambers, all of Orlando; brother-in-law; Linwood Johnson, Orlando.
Visitation of family and friends will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, February 21 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Celebration of Connie's Life will be 10 a.m., Saturday, February 22 at The Palatka House of God Church, 723 N. 19th Street, Palatka. Bishop G. L. Evans, Jr., Pastor, is the eulogist. Interment will follow in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
