Claudia "Queen Sugar" Harmon, 83, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Putnam Community Medical Center, Palatka. On Saturday, June 6, 1964, Claudia was united in marriage to John H. Harmon, Jr. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church. Claudia was an accomplished seamstress. As a husband-wife team, Claudia would custom-design the interior of caskets while John was constructing the wooden exterior. Claudia was a respected wedding coordinator and also was a facilitator for summer youth programs. Claudia's personality plus brought her to serve as "Mistress of Ceremonies" and guest host for countless civic affairs and formal events. She enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, entertaining, dancing, singing, playing the piano and doing yardwork. She was proud of the namesake dance troop she initiated, "The Harmonettes."
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in eternal rest by her son, James "Tony" Harmon; first cousin ("like a brother") Bobby Jones.
