Obituary

Clarence Herbert "Goat" Hall, Jr., 72, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at his residence. A native of Palatka, he was born on Thursday, October 17, 1940 to Clarence H. Sr., & Alberta (Banks) Hall. He was a graduate of Central Academy High School, Class of 1958. Subsequently, he attended Florida A&M University in Tallahassee in pursuit of a law degree and was united in marriage to the former Victoria McClendon. Over the years, he was employed with the family-owned French Dry Cleaners, Palatka Clothing, and also was a substitute teacher at Central. He enjoyed playing the saxophone, listening to jazz, cooking, paralegal work and simply spending time with family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his brother, John Hall, aunt and uncle, William H. Sr., and Carrie Banks. Those who cherish his memories: sons & daughters, Lee Arthur Andrews, New York City; Gregory Keith Hall, Anita Chavis, Willetta Hobbs, Clarence "Herbie" (Alesia) Hall, III, and Cedric Hall, all of Palatka; Daphne Hall McClendon, East Palatka; Cassius (Kameka) Hall, Atlanta, GA; 20 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Valerye) Hall, Orange Mills; sisters, Myrtis (Otis) Mason and Veronica Proctor Gilliam, both of St. Augustine; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 pm Friday, June 7 and Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity", 2400 Madison Street, Palatka. Reverend Karl N. Flagg, pastor of Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, is the eulogist.
