Obituary

Clarence "Pooh Bear" Williams, Jr., 47, of Crescent City, entered the sunset of life on Thursday, February 17, 2022 in Pomona Park as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A native of Crescent City, he was the son of Clarence Williams, Sr. and Charlotte (White) Williams, born on Monday, January 20, 1975. "Pooh Bear" was educated in the Putnam County School District and was a 1993 graduate of Crescent City Jr.-Sr. High School, where he was recognized as an outstanding multi-sport athlete and a star player, rushing for more than 5,000 yards during his career.   Upon graduating from high school, he was awarded a full scholarship to Florida State University, Tallahassee.  Williams is best remembered as a 265-pound fullback who helped Florida State Seminoles win a national championship in 1993.  An undrafted rookie in 1997, Williams played briefly for the Bills and was subsequently picked up by the Cleveland Browns in the expansion draft.  After his NFL tenure concluded, he returned home to Crescent City Jr. - Sr. High School to coach football, baseball, and basketball for several years. "Pooh Bear" was an all-around talented, hometown hero who also held a Butcher's position at Southeastern Grocers Winn Dixie in Crescent City, cutting meat to specifications and increasing customer confidence and loyalty by providing courteous and prompt service.

In addition to his parents, Pooh Bear was preceded in eternal rest by his: grandparents, Lonnie and Lillian Kennell, Gladys and Ed Cooper, Rayford "Punch" Freeman; sister, Vanvoris White Clemmons; brother, Willis Glover; uncles, Alvin White and Eddie Cooper; aunt, Alberta Martin; cousins, Jerome Williams, Jarvis Crocker, and Katronica Williams Wilson.

He leaves to cherish his memories: loving wife, Jeanna Williams; sons, Clarence Williams, III, Clearwater; Caleb Williams, Ormond Beach; Bryan Sharper, Crescent City; daughter, Jordan Williams, Crescent City/ Clearwater; sisters, Vomsheree White, Trenton, NJ; Caswayla Williams, Ocoee; brother, Travis Kennell; nieces, Brittney (Walter) Brown, Ocoee; Kiace Paul, Orlando; Kieondra White, Orlando; Nicole Allen, Clearwater; nephews, Ahkeem Addison, Orlando; Colin Mitchner, Ocoee; Ty Allen, Clearwater; Raymont Harrell, Newark, NJ; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and many, many players who "Pooh Bear" considered family.

Visitation of family and friends (CDC guidelines will be followed) will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, February 25 th at Crescent-City Jr.-Sr. High School Gymnasium; Celebration of "Pooh Bear's" Life will be 2:22 p.m., Saturday, February, 26 th at Crescent City Jr.-Sr. High School - Wisnoski Field at Wiltcher Stadium, 2201 US Highway 17, Crescent City, Florida.
