Christopher Lionel "The Bull" "Buddy" Walton, 69, longtime resident of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, Palatka. The son of L B Walton and Verdean Myers Walton, he was born on Thursday, March 24, 1949 in St. Augustine. He was educated in the St. Johns County School District and was a 1967 graduate of Richard J. Murray High School. "Chris" was formerly employed at Ripley's Believe It or Not!, Potter's Wax Museum, Ponce de Leon Restaurant and the Windmill Restaurant in St. Augustine, working with his best friend of 60 years Charles (Koonce) Lewis and his other long-time friend C.J. Hankerson. He resided in New York from 1969 – 1982. Since 1982, "Chris" has been a resident of Palatka and was a retired City of Palatka Public Works employee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his older brother, Earl Leonard Myers.
He leaves to cherish his memories: wife of 25 years, Shirley (Williams) Walton, Palatka; son, Derrick Christopher (Evonne) Walton, Capital Heights, MD; grandchildren, Derrick Aaron Christopher Walton, Matthew Eric Taurean Walton; Capital Heights, MD; Shania Atkinson, Washington, DC; sister, LaRetha (David) Walton Green, Palatka; brother, LeeVan (Mary) Walton, Palatka; special children, Lisa Douse, Tiffany Douse, both of Charlotte, NC; Eric Davis, Washington, DC; Brenda Douse, New Rochelle, NY; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be 2-4 p.m., Saturday, June 2 with Homegoing Celebration will be 4 p.m. at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Reverend Karl N. Flagg, Senior Pastor of Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, officiating.
