IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Chris Sam
Stratos
May 4, 1944 – January 7, 2021
Chris Sam Stratos, 76, of Palm Coast, entered the sunset of life on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at AdventHealth Palm Coast. A native of Thomasville, Georgia, he was the son of Sam Kostas and Sarah Columbia Stratos, born on Thursday, May 4, 1944. Raised in Monticello, Florida, Chris went on to attend Florida State University, Tallahassee, and subsequently graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Florida Technological University (presently University of Central Florida).
Chris continued building his life in Daytona Beach. He co-owned Sarah's gift shop on the Boardwalk for many years and later became a loyal employee of Halifax Hospital. His faith, family, and friends were always most important to him. He served in many capacities at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church including serving as a distinguished member of the Parish Council for many years.
Anyone who knew Chris knew that his generosity and kindness knew no bounds. He found joy in doing for others and was selfless in so many ways. He enjoyed nature, spending time with family, music, dancing, and good talks over coffee. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, Papou, and friend.
In addition to his parents, Chris was preceded in eternal rest by his daughter, Sotiria Stratos.
He leaves to cherish his memories: loving wife , Aida Stratos; children , Paul Stratos, Maria (Expedito) Inoa, Ana (Doran) Heck, David (Nathaly) Rojas, Elias (Marucha) Rojas; grandchildren , Maximus and Mila Inoa, Nicole and Paola Rojas, Santiago, Victor, and Salvador Rojas; brother , Kostas (Connie) Stratos; and many more loving relatives and friends including Thomas and Nancy Lemus.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation be made in honor of Chris Stratosto St. Jude's Children's Hospital at http://giftfunds.stjude.org/Chris_Stratos . In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines including required masks with social distancing, a graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, January 15, 2021 at the Daytona Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life gathering will be held afterwards to honor him with immediate family and close friends.
