Cherry Lannette Fullwood Leonard, 53, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital. Affectionately known as "Netta" she was the daughter of Eddie James Fullwood, Sr. and Gloria Jean Spence, born on Thursday, June 27, 1968 in Kissimmee. She was a graduate of Osceola High School and was an avid basketball player. Cherry was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Kissimmee. In 1993, Cherry relocated to Palatka and gained a host of loving friends. Cherry was a wonderful friend to all and enjoyed playing cards, cooking, traveling with her children and extended family. Her affection went beyond family in a given spirit - IF YOU WANTED IT SHE GOT IT, IF YOU NEEDED IT SHE GAVE IT. "It is what it is" and "Thank you Jesus" were her famous quotes.
In addition to her parents, Cherry was preceded in eternal rest by her grandmother who raised her, Cherry Burrows Morrow, grandfathers, Lloyd Duncan and Rubin Morrow; siblings, Don Allen Duncan and Mary Jean Jackson; granddaughter, Kamari L. Jackson (January 7, 2022).
She leaves to cherish her memories forever: daughters, Courtney (Lonnie) Lindsey, Palatka; MaryJean Small, Orange Park; sons, Jason Small, Orlando; Jermaine Small, Kissimmee; Albert Leonard, III and Almont'e Leonard, both of Palatka; grandchildren, Kamilla Vazquez , Kingston Lindsey, Kasiyah White, Jose Vazquez; brothers, Eddie James (Marie) Fullwood, Jr., Kissimmee; Lloyd (Beth) Duncan, Albany, GA; Charles Scott, Kissimmee; step-siblings, Ronald Collins, Tina Collins, Martha Edmond; nieces & nephews, Sharde, Desiree, Destiny, Shareece, Shantell, Meko, Aiya Fullwood, Rashawn Brown, all of Kissimmee, Florida; Tameka, Adrian, Bryian, Ebony, Marissa, all of Thomasville, Georgia; Raven and Philicia Jackson, both of Tampa; godsons, Earl Bell and Lonell Wilson; best friend for over 30 years, Annette Bell, Kissimmee; and a host of caring friends and loving neighbors throughout the community.
Visitation of family and friends will be 4-6 p.m., Friday, May 27 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Celebration of Cherry's Life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 28 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 604 N. John Young Parkway, Kissimmee.
