Charles "Chuck" Dunbar Sharon, Sr., 81, of Palatka, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Haven Hospice-Roberts Care Center, Palatka, following an extended illness. A native of Louisville, GA., he was the son of Charles Dunbar and Bertha (Dewery) Sharon, born on Monday, September 18, 1933. He was educated in the Wayne County (Detroit, MI) School District. He has been a resident of Putnam County (East Palatka/Orange Mills area) for over 55 years. "Chuck" was a great mechanic who enjoyed trucking and was a self-employed trucking entrepreneur for many years and prior to that he was a migrant worker. Chuck taught his children how to work on their personal vehicles. In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in eternal rest by his wife, Annie L. Hall-Sharon; step-father, George Sharon, Sr.; brother, Jack Sharon; sister, Dorothy Sharon; and nephew, Ronnie Sharon. He leaves to cherish his memories: four sons, Charles Sharon, Palatka; Shawn (Janice) Sharon, Kissimmee; Alonzo (Ossie) Hall, Daytona Beach; Alphonso Hall, St. Augustine; seven daughters, Jequita (Ronald) Evans, East Palatka; Bertha (Sidney) Robinson, St. Augustine; Lottie Johnson, Miami; Carolyn (Jeff) Sharon, Felicia McCaskill, Anita Walker, Houston, TX, and Bonita (Zelbon) Grimmage, League City, TX; brother, George (Charlotte) Sharon, Jr., Troy, MI,; brother-in-law, Ed Curry, Sr., Palatka; numerous grandchildren, especially, Javonda Sharon, Jacksonville; Chris Thomas, and Shawn Sharon, Jr., Palatka; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; special friends, William C. Jenkins, Orange Mills; George Cooper, Bunnell; Elton Kato, and John "JJ" Jones, Palatka. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, October 31, and Chuck's Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 1, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity" 2400 Madison Street, Palatka, Reverend John H. "Butch" Williams, officiating.
