Charles Edward Burke, Jr., 45, of Gainesville (East Palatka) entered the sunset of life unexpectedly on Sunday, November 21, 2010. Charles, the son of Charles Edward Burke, Sr. & Wynester Charlotte Wiggins was born Tuesday, September 7, 1965. A native of Palatka, he has been a lifelong resident moving to Gainesville a year ago. He was educated in Putnam County School District (Palatka High School, Class of 82). He also attended Indian River & Santa Fe Community College. Charles was a former chef at BJS Restaurant in Gainesville and Holiday Inn Restaurant in Palatka. He was employed by Burger King and Jessies Moving & Delivery in Gainesville. He was united in marriage to the former Angela D. Young on December 7, 1987. Charles was preceded in eternal rest by his parents; sister, Dorothy A. Burke; paternal grandparents, Norman & Dorothy Burke; Maternal Grandparents, LeRoy & Lula Mae (Norris) Wiggins.

Burke, Gainesville; Karl E. Crowley; Christopher L. Crowley, Derrick E. Burke, all of Palatka; 2 Grandsons; 44 nieces & nephews; , aunts, uncles, other relatives and caring friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, November 26 with the Homegoing Celebration at 12 noon Saturday, November 27 at the Chapel of Serenity 2400 Madison Street, Palatka. Elder Alonzo Mulberry, pastor of Soul Mission Church of God in Christ, is the eulogist.

Interment will be in Pattersonville Memorial Cemetery, East Palatka.
