Chanel Deloris Lockett, 49, of Green Cove Springs, entered the sunset of life on Friday, November 3, 2023 at HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital. The daughter of Samuel Lockett and Daisy Lee (Coleman) Brown, she was born on Tuesday, November 6, 1973 in Green Cove Springs. She was educated in the Clay County School District at Clay High School. Chanel loved the Lord and absolutely enjoyed sharing encouraging words with everyone. In her early years, she was a member of St. James Church of God in Christ, Green Cove Springs. She also enjoyed quiet, peaceful times at home with family and friends cooking fantastic meals. She enjoyed a wide variety of beautiful plants, and embraced all that nature offered. She spent a great portion of her life caring for others. Chanel especially loved being a caretaker for her mother, siblings, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in eternal rest by her mother, Daisy Lee (Coleman) Brown; father, Samuel Lockett.

Those she leaves to cherish her memories: brothers, Walter H. Brown (Brenda), Orange Park; Theodore Brown, Kenneth R. Brown (Lorenda), Minister Alvin C. Brown, Carlton Frazier, all of Green Cove Springs; uncles, Samuel Coleman, Mack Coleman, both of Tallahassee; aunt, Emma Garner, Miami; Mannie Coleman, Tallahassee; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Celebration of Chanel's Life will be 12 noon, Saturday, November 11 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 1300 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, Green Cove Springs, with visitation from 11 a.m.-12 noon. Bishop John Newman, Sunshine Holiness Church, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
