Cathy Myrtle Washington was a native of Seville, born on Tuesday, January 28, 1958. The daughter of Isaac Washington and Juanita Reese, she was educated in the Volusia County School District at Taylor High School in Pierson. Cathy was a member of Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church, Seville. She was a homemaker who enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Cathy was preceded in eternal rest by her sister, Marva Washington; brothers, Walter, Lonnie and Vincent Washington.

Cathy entered the sunset of life at 5:36 p.m., on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Halifax Hospice, West Volusia Care Center in Orange City.

She leaves to cherish her memories: 2 daughters, Lisa Washington (Marco Miler), Deltona, FL; Lonniesha Washington, Bagdad, FL; 3 grandchildren, LaSasha Washington, Stephanie Bush, and Dewayne Gillyard; 2 great-grandchildren, Armani Robinson and Ashton Tucker; siblings, Charles Washington, Crescent City; Marvin Washington, Alberta (Dennis) Broyld, and Patricia (Jimmy) Gillon, all of Kissimmee; Isaac Washington and Adia Washington, both of Charleston, SC; Carabelle Washington, Palm Coast; aunts & uncles, Robert (Idella) Reese, Sr., Seville; Lois Jacobs, Hartford, CT; Pearl Reese, Rochester, NY; devoted classmate, Joe Bacon; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, May 26 at Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church, 1851 Barton St. Seville, Rev. Willie Mae Joma, Pastor. Celebration of Cathy's Life will be 12 Noon, Saturday, May 27, at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church (South Putnam Campus), 608 Randolph Street, Crescent City, Reverend Karl N. Flagg, Senior Pastor. Reverend Jacqueline Moore, Associate Elder of St. Mark A.M.E. Church, Orlando is the eulogist.
