Obituary

Catherine Lee Jackson, 33, of Jacksonville (formerly Palm Coast), entered the sunset of life on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at her residence.  A native of Camden, NJ, she was the daughter of Arthur Jackson, Sr. and Gwendolyn Jackson, born on Tuesday, September 29, 1987. "Cathy" as she was affectionately called, grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ at the tender age of five years old.

Cathy was educated in the Cherry Hill NJ and Flagler FL County School Districts, respectively. She was a 2005 graduate of Flagler Palm Coast High School. She earned her undergraduate degree in Athletic Training at Florida Southern, Lakeland, FL. She continued her pursuit of education and earned two advanced degrees from Austin Peay State University, Clarksville, TN and Kent State University, Kent, OH for her bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy.

In 2009, Cathy began working as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Austin Peay with Dr. James Andrews (renowned orthopedic surgeon for the NFL and NBA).  While there, Cathy worked with Women's Volleyball, Men's Football, and Men's baseball, earning, not one, but two championship rings when her APSU players won the Human and Health Performance Championship.  Cathy was an avid sports fan and her favorite football team was the Philadelphia Eagles.  Cathy was a natural creator who enjoyed researching creative ideas on Pinterest and providing special sentimental gifts and portraits for family and friends.  She was always making and creating something with her God-given talent.  She was nostalgic; she preferred the older cartoons, sitcoms, movies, and video games. She also loved hanging out with her grandfather, taking pictures, visiting museums and touring.

One of her favorite movies was " Remember the Titans ." Her hobbies were art, baking red velvet cakes, reading, crocheting, knitting and attending live Broadway plays. She traveled to Chicago for her birthday to see Hamilton and took her mom to see The Lion King in Washington, DC.  She also enjoyed watching Cruz and her godchildren, Makayla and Rockland. On October 6, 2020, after helping others raise their children, Cathy was blessed with her own son-shine, Jericho.

She represented the true essence of a Proverbs 31 woman, Cathy enjoyed working to provide for her family and excel in her career. Cathy was a mail carrier at the Jacksonville Post Office for four years and recently became an athletic trainer at the Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

She was the devoted mother of , Jericho; beloved daughter of, Arthur and Gwendolyn Jackson; loving sister of, Candace (Lester) Jackson Franklin, Arthur (Amanda) Jackson, Jr., and Christina Jackson; wonderful aunt of, Simone and Laila Franklin, Judah David Jackson; caring granddaughter of, Norman Bishop; adored godmother of, Makayla Baker and Rockland Combs; devoted sister of, Cruz Ramirez and Joziah Flores; and a well-loved niece, cousin and friend to many.
