Cassie Mae Lowery Roberts, 85, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Putnam Community Medical Center, Palatka. A native of Millhaven, GA., she was the daughter of Eddie and Josephine (Neal) Lowery, born on Friday, September 13, 1929. She attended the public schools of Screven County, Georgia. She was united in Holy Matrimony to William C. Roberts, Sr., on July 28, 1951 and they became the proud parents of 6 children. In 1968 the Roberts relocated from the Sylvania GA., area to Palatka, FL. Mother Cassie was a faithful member of Bethel A.M.E. Church for over 43 years. She served as a Stewardess and on the Usher's ministry. She was a retired homemaker who enjoyed hosting family gatherings, cooking, watching soap operas and tending to her flowers. In addition to her parents and husband, Cassie was preceded in eternal rest by her sons, William E. Roberts and Wilbert H. Roberts; brothers, John Lowery and James Lowery; sisters, Anniebell Jackson and Ethel Lowery. She leaves to cherish her memories: sons and daughters, Willie S. (Lindsey) Roberts, Vivian D. Wright, Jackqueline A. (Anthony) King, all of Palatka; Arthur A. Roberts, Tampa; brother, Wesley Lowery, Palatka; sisters, Janette (Henry) Shanks, Atlanta, GA, Mattie Belle Lowery, Goose Creek, SC; daughter-in-law, Lynn Roberts, San Mateo; sisters-in-law, Gladys (Peter) Jackson, Catherine (Daniel) King, both of Savannah, GA; Lucinda (Bobby) Carter, Bronx, NY, Brenda (Robert) Myers, Doris Brannan, both of Atlanta, GA, 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, June 26, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing celebration will be 12 noon, Saturday, June 27, at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 719 Reid Street, Palatka, FL. Reverend James McGriff, Pastor is the Eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill East Cemetery, Palatka.
