Carolyn Annie Fountain, 60, of Elkton (Armstrong Community), entered the sunset of life on Monday, November 1, 2021 at Baptist Medical Center-South, Jacksonville. A native of Palatka, she was the daughter of Isaac Thomas and Juanita Jackson, born on Thursday, May 18, 1961. Carolyn was educated in the St. Johns County FL and Suffolk County (Long Island-Bayshore) NY School Districts, respectively. After graduating from high school, she earned her Bachelor's degree in Sociology at Bethune-Cookman College, Daytona Beach and Master's degree in Educational Leadership at Saint Leo University. Carolyn was a former social worker with the Putnam County Health Department and an ESE Instructor in the St. Johns County School District. She was a member of The Lord's Temple, City of Refuge, Hastings. She truly enjoyed assisting people with solving problems, reading, writing poetry, playing pool, walking, and watching movies. She appreciated nature, loved to spend time in solitude and to accompany children on field trips visiting museums.
Carolyn was preceded in eternal rest by her parents, Isaac Thomas, Juanita Jackson Fountain and George Fountain; maternal grandparents, Henry Luther Jackson, Sr. and Everlina Allen Jackson; aunts, Helen Dennis Craine, Lillian Jackson, Clifford Mae Finch; uncles, Henry Jackson, Nathaniel Jackson, and Earl Jackson.
To cherish her memories: devoted son, Jackson Alonzo Brown; sister, Harriett Yvonne (Lamar) Cohen; aunts, Eunice Jackson Warren, Evelyn Jackson Hall, and Jacqueline Jackson; a host of nieces and nephews , especially Monique Cohen and Michael Galan; several cousins, including Barbara Jackson, Jerry Finch, and Shirley Smith; and numerous other relatives and friends.
A visitation of family and friends will be held from 4-6 p.m., Friday, November 5, at her church. Homegoing Celebration will be 10 a.m., Saturday, November 6 at the Lord's Temple City of Refuge, 140 Gilmore Street, Hastings, Bishop Thomas Cave, III, Senior Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Cemetery.
