Carol Renee Oxendine Taylor, 39, of Crescent City, entered the sunset of life on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Manor on the Green Healthcare Center in Daytona Beach following an extended illness. Carol was a native of Palatka and lifelong resident of Georgetown born on Tuesday, December 11, 1973. She was the daughter of Leroy, Jr. & Catherine (Walker) Oxendine. Carol was a graduate of Crescent City High School, class of 1992. She was a member of Johnson Temple Church of God in Christ, Crescent City. She was formerly employed at American Radionics in Palm Coast until her health declined. Carol really enjoyed shopping and she was passionate about comedy shows. She was preceded in eternal rest by her mother-in-law, Earnestine Odom. Those who treasure her memories: husband, Larry J. Taylor, Crescent City; parents, Leroy & Catherine Oxendine, Jr., Palatka; brothers, James (Katrenda "Katrina") Oxendine, Palatka; Leroy Oxendine, III, Georgetown ; Bruce (Asteria) Oxendine, Palatka; sister, Felicia Oxendine, Palatka; sisters-in-law, Thelma (Keith) Banks, Frankie Odom, Panessie Ward, all of Crescent City; Kathleen (Jonathan) Jordan, Melbourne; goddaughter, Queshawna Cooks, Seville; godson, Davontae Small, Georgetown; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and caring friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, August 30 at Johnson Temple Church of God In Christ, 1150 Huntington Road, Crescent City, FL. Homegoing Celebration will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 31 at True Foundation Ministries, 608 Randolph Street, Crescent City, Pastor Gwendolyn George. Elder Keith Banks, is the eulogist and Elder H. Harry Banks, pastor of Johnson Temple Church of God In Christ is presiding. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Crescent City.
