IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carl E.
Jackson
October 11, 1946 – January 14, 2019
Carl Eugene Jackson, 72, of Palm Coast entered the sunset of life on Monday, January 14, 2019 at AdventHealth Hospital, Daytona Beach. The son of C D and Elizabeth (James) Jackson, he was born on Friday, October 11, 1946 in Los Angeles, CA. The Jackson family's homestead was located in Corsicana, TX. Carl was a 1965 graduate of Lincoln High School, Dallas, TX, and later attended the University of Montana. While living in Montana, he worked for the Department of Forestry. Carl subsequently relocated to Seattle, WA, became self-employed and also worked for the Catholic Church Outreach Ministry. Carl was an airplane mechanic while serving our great nation in the U.S. Air Force and earned an honorable discharge. Additionally, Carl was an entrepreneur and "jack of all trades" who was a certified General Contractor and Dry Cleaners store owner. He was a former member and Deacon of the Beth Eden Baptist Church, Dallas, TX and served other churches in the Dallas Metro area. Upon relocating to Virginia, he was a member and Deacon of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Herndon, VA, serving under several pastors, especially the Rev. James L. Graham, Jr., Pastor Emeritus. Over the years, Carl has served in numerous church ministries, including, Deacon, Trustee, Pastor's Aid, Finance Committee, Sexton, Food Ministry, and Church Parking Ministry. If a committee or ministry existed, Carl's name was listed and he served faithfully. He always demonstrated his supervisory gift because he loved to supervise everyone, even if he was not in charge. If you did not have an assignment or job within the church, he would help you find one. Sometimes, church members would stop answering his calls because they knew he had a task for them to complete. If a member had to relocate, or just needed assistance, Carl would start calling the Men's Ministry at Mount Pleasant to tell them to get ready to help a member in need.
In January of 2013, upon moving to Florida, Carl's involvement in performing church work did not stop. He and his family moved across the street from Deacon and Deaconess Clay Simpson, and they were invited to attend Mt. Calvary and he subsequently united with the church in April, 2013. He knew he had found the right church, church family, great pastor and friend in the Reverend Edwin Coffie. It wasn't long before he began faithfully serving again. If someone needed a truck or an extra hand, Carl would volunteer and also solicit others to help. It was told, he and others were dropping off watermelons on Mt. Calvary's members' porches because they wanted to share the bounty. During his membership in Mt. Calvary, he willingly served as Trustee, Security, and could be seen on many occasions, patrolling the halls, directing traffic in the parking lot, serving meals with the Hospitality Ministry, or on a Men's committee helping during their various events.
Carl and his family loved to take "day road trips" in Virginia and Florida. While in Texas he was always surrounded by his young nieces and nephews, giving them encouragement and life lessons for the future. During his brief stay here in Florida, he loved going to the beach, just sitting along Highway A-1-A, and calling family to tell them what he was doing, and advising them that they should be in Florida with him. Carl loved GOD, his family and his church family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his siblings: Walter Jackson, Pearl Jackson Neason, Eulalia Jackson Bolton, Helen Jackson Ferrell, Lola Jackson Long and Mary Jackson Price.
He leaves to cherish his memories: devoted wife, Deborah White Jackson; three sons, Reginal (Mattie) Brown, Dallas, TX; Carl Jackson, Jr. and David Jackson, both of Palm Coast; daughter, Nikki Webster, Arlington, TX; brother, Ervin Charles (Sarah) Jackson, Sr., Red Oak, TX; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and other beloved family and friends.

Calvary Baptist Church, 75 Pine Lakes Parkway South, Palm Coast, Reverend Edwin Coffie Pastor, is the eulogist.
