Calvin Roger Simpson, 58, of Jacksonville, entered the sunset of life on Friday, April 22, 2016. A native of St. Augustine, Calvin was born on Monday, September 23, 1957 and resided in Hastings during his childhood years. He was educated in the St. Johns County School District at Hastings High School. He was a former member of Mount Zion A.M.E. Church of Hastings. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged. Calvin was a long distance truck driver. He was preceded in eternal rest by his mother, Lillian Elizabeth (Pollard) Lewis and father, Willie Simpson.

He leaves to cherish his memories: son, Calvin Roger (Jennifer) Simpson, II, Boynton Beach, FL., daughters, Whitney McCary, Columbus, OH; Shondria Johnson, Jacksonville, NC; brothers , Richard Lewis, Willie James (Joann)Simpson, both of Hastings, Sammy Lewis, Jacksonville; George "Dat" Lewis, Palatka; sisters, Beverly Shurelds, Jacksonville; Clarice J. Coleman, Daytona Beach; Ruth C. James, Palatka; 4 grandchildren; Maddison Simpson, Tanijia Thomas, Taezon McCary and Shondryuana Johnson-Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturday. Celebration of Life will be 1 p.m., Saturday, May 7, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity" Reverend John Henry "Butch" Williams, is the eulogist.
