Obituary

Brittany Lynn Beauford, 27, of East Palatka (Federal Point), entered the sunset of life on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, Palatka. The daughter of Isaac and Flora (Hardy) Beauford, she was a native of St. Augustine, FL., born on Friday, December 22, 1989. She was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Federal Point. She was a 2008 graduate of Pedro Menendez High School, St. Augustine. In pursuit of a nursing career, she attended St. Johns River State College, Palatka and Santa Fe State College, Gainesville.

She was an honorably discharged U.S. Navy Logistics Specialist (2009-2013)stationed at Naval Station Mayport and served aboard the USS Philippine Sea. LSSN (E-3) Beauford was awarded numerous decorations, including the Navy "E" Ribbon, National Service Defense Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.

Brittany enjoyed sharing good times with family and friends and especially spending quality time with her daughter, Braelyn. Her hobbies included shopping, talking and/or texting on her cell phone. She was preceded in eternal rest by her paternal grandparents, Will & Louise Beauford.

Cherishing Brittany's life and legacy: treasured daughter, Braelyn Willis, Federal Point; devoted parents, Isaac and Flora Beauford, Federal Point; brother, Steven Johnson, Satsuma; sisters, Bryanna Beauford, Federal Point; Latoya Beauford-Myles, Palatka; maternal grandparents, Mary Adkison-Williams (Eugene), Federal Point; William Hardy, Jr., (Loretta), Palatka; A host of aunts, especially Betty Singleton (Betty was there when she entered this world and also when she exited this world to be with the Lord); and uncles, countless cousins, other relatives, and friends, including special friend, Rai-Shawn Lamal Wilson, St. Augustine.

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, July 14 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." A Life Celebration with U.S. Navy military honors will be 2 p.m., Saturday, July 15, at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, Rev. Karl N. Flagg, Senior Pastor. Reverend Theodore McRae, pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Federal Point, is the eulogist. Minister Erick L. Bennett, Sr., Religious Program Specialist First Class (USN Retired), presiding. There will be no viewing during the celebration service. The cortege will assemble at 1:15 p.m., Saturday at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity."
