Bill Jeffery Fells, 64, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Friday, December 24, 2021 at Haven Hospice, Roberts Care Center. A native of Palatka, he was the son of Eugene Fells, Sr., and Claudia Larosa (Williams) Fells, born on Sunday, April 4, 1957. He was educated in the Putnam County School District at Palatka Central High School, Class of 1975. In June of 1975, Bill entered the U.S. Army immediately after high school and was awarded the Expert Bade M-16 Rifle and parachute badge and was honorably discharged in September of 1978. He was of the Baptist faith and in his early years attended Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with his aunt and uncle, Deaconess Bessie (Deacon Amos) Sermon. He had been employed for several years as a machine operator at the former Florida Furniture. "Wild Bill" as he was affectionately known, enjoyed his Bulldog named "D-2" and spending time with family and friends. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in eternal rest by his brother, Timothy Fells, and several aunts and uncles.
He leaves to cherish his memories: son , Bill Eugene (Marchelle) Fells, Jacksonville, FL, son , Kenneth Chavarro (Shay) Fells, Suffolk, VA, daughter , Kiana Chantae Fells, son , Dontral Jeffery Fells, Palatka, FL; grandchildren, Byris Fells, Brielle Fells, Brilynn Fells, Kenneth Fells Jr., Kashten Fells, Layla Lewis; brothers, Warren Fells, James Fells, Leon (Janice) Fells, Ralph (Cecilia) Brown, Dexter (Lisa) Fells, Eugene (Lisa) Fells, Jr., Keith Davis, Kelvin Davis, Reno (Angelita) Fells; sisters, Glenda Fells-Sharon, Ronice (Vince) Reed, Novice Fells White, Felicia Fells-Tillery, Carol Baker, Cathy McCoy, and Lashawn Harris; aunt, Lucy Hutcherson; devoted nephews, Craig Fells, Deon Fells, Tony Williams and Josh Miller; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, at Flagg's Chapel of Serenity. Celebration of Bill's Life will be 12 noon, Thursday, December 30 with U.S. Army conducting military honors at Palatka High School (Commons Area), 302 Mellon Road. Reverend Karl N. Flagg, Senior Pastor of Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, eulogist. Interment will be 9 a.m., Friday, December 31 in the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
