Betty Jean Brinson Coley, 69, of East Palatka, peacefully entered the sunset of life on Saturday, January 2, 2021 in Palm Coast surrounded by her family. A native of Palatka and lifelong resident of Putnam County, she was the daughter of Dan Brinson II and Annie Bartley Brinson, born on Sunday, March 11, 1951. Betty was educated in the Putnam County School District and a 1970 graduate of Central Academy High School. She was a faithful, dedicated servant of God at Passionate First Born Church of the Living God. She was actively involved in ministry and served as a Deaconess and Sunday School Teacher. She was a Putnam County School District bus driver for 32 years until retirement. She enjoyed fishing and was a kind-hearted and compassionate lady who enjoyed reading and studying the bible as well as helping those in need.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, Solomon Glenn Coley, Sr.; siblings, Linda Mack, Sharon Harrell, Sylvester Brinson, Catherine Daniels, and Larry Brinson.
She leaves to cherish her memories: sons and daughter, Stephen Chandler, Freddie (Trenease) Taylor, Jr., Solomon "Rock" Coley, Jr., Donna Lee, Tyrell (Carisa) Taylor, Trevis (Deidra) Coley, Kevis (Shawanda) Coley, Solomon "Mane" Coley; sisters, Claudia Johnson, Anna (Lynwood) Aldridge, Beverly (Sherman) Canty; brothers, Dan (Angela) Brinson, III, Joseph (Barbara) Brinson, and Timothy Brinson, Sr.; 29 grandchildren ; a host of great-grandchildren, other loving relatives and caring friends.
In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines including required masks with social distancing, a public visitation of family and friends will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, January 8, at Passionate First Born Church of the Living God, 1708 Madison Street, Palatka, Elder James Matthews, Pastor. Due to the pandemic, there will be a private Homegoing Celebration for the immediate family only.
