Obituary

Bertha Mae Rosier, 84, of St. Augustine, entered the sunset of life on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Flagler Hospital, St. Augustine. The daughter of Carlee and Viola (Fulmore) Merine, she was born on Saturday, November 4, 1933 in Bellville, FL. She was educated in the Hamilton County School District and subsequently attended Florida Normal College in Miami. She was a longtime private duty nursing assistant provider. In 1981, she relocated to St. Augustine, previously residing in Vermont Heights, Mill Creek, and Wolf Ranch. Bertha was a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church of St. Augustine, and over the years served as a church clerk, Sunday School teacher, Trustee, and usher. Her hobbies included fishing, crocheting, and cooking.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, Roosevelt Jackson, Sr., husband, John Henry Rosier; sons, Willie Lee Jackson, Roosevelt Junior Jackson, and Tommy Lee Merine; brother, Charlie Merine; sisters, Joane Klee, Henrietta Merine.

She leaves to cherish her memories: sons, Lewis (Ellen) Jackson, Rockville, MD; Rudolph Wayne (Mary Linda) Jackson, Gregory Eugene Jackson, St. Augustine; step-children, John "Phil" (Cavella) Rosier, Tallahassee; Cathy Rosier, Crawfordville; Doris (Winston) Henson, Orlando; Marilyn (Willie) Burch, Tifton, GA; daughter-in-law, Sandra Jackson, St. Augustine; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ida Mae Bates, Philadelphia, PA; LaRuth (Rayfield) Davis and Leon ( "Doll") Merine, Orlando; Idella (Willie) King, St. Augustine; Linda Lee (Alexander) Carroll, Bellville; Jerome Carlee (Azaline) Merine, Valdosta, GA;; devoted brother-in-law, Nathieo Jackson, St. Augustine; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Nancy (Edward) Jackson, Charles Rosier, Willie Rosier, Pearlie Rosier, Tassie Bryant, all of Tallahassee; Larry (Louise) Rosier, Quincy; Darceal (Willie) Ayres, Hinesville, GA; James Rosier, Seattle, WA; John Henry (Pamela) Rosier, CA; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Friday, March 9 at Antioch. Homegoing Celebration will be 1 p.m., Friday, March 9 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 833 Pearl Street, St. Augustine, Reverend Pernell Raggins, Pastor is the eulogist. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, St. Augustine.
