Bertha Mae Everette Holmes-Hall, 72, of Palm Coast, entered the sunset of life on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at AdventHealth Palm Coast. A native of Live Oak, FL., Bertha was the daughter of Jerry Everette and Leola (Wright) Everette, born on Monday, February 21, 1949. She was educated in the Suwanee County School District and a 1967 graduate of Douglas High School. Bertha had a distinguished career and was formerly employed with Harris Grocery, Palm Coast Data, and Riviera Beach Police Department. She subsequently retired as a Medical Transcriptionist at the Flagler County Health Department following 23 years of exemplary service. She was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Espanola, where she served as a Deaconess and Secretary. In her leisure, Bertha enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers beds, as well as spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her brothers , Tommy Lee and Carlin Everette; sister , Carrie Dean Dye; grandmother , Margaret Hicks.
She leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Deacon Ernest Hall, Palm Coast; sons and daughters, Arthur (Lewanna) Smith, Anthony Smith, Jason Neal, Ernest (Harriett) Hall, III, all of Palm Coast; Christopher Holmes, Orlando; Corey Holmes, McDonough, GA; Kenzel (Sandora) Washington, Daytona Beach; Mark (Katie) Holmes, Marvin Holmes, both of West Palm Beach; 29 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; uncle, Richard "Tiny" Hicks, Chula Vista, CA; sisters-in-law, Annie Hizen, Bunnell; Brenda Everette, West Palm Beach; Sylvia Butler, Bartow; brothers-in-law, Ronnie (Betty) Hall, Oscar (Barbara) Hall, III; special son, Kenton Galvin; special daughter, Harriett Turner; godchildren, Kentrayvia Galvin, Daytona Beach; Tevin Galvin, Palm Coast; god-sisters, Marie Smith, Mack Reddin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be 11 a.m. -1 p.m., with Homegoing Celebration commencing at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 15 at First Baptist Church of Bunnell, 2301 commerce Pkwy., Bunnell. Pastor Tiandra Holmes Montgomery, of New Beginning Pentecostal Ministry, Riviera Beach, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Masonic Cemetery, Palm Coast.
