Bennie Lee Alexander, Jr., 72, a native and lifelong resident of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at HCA FL Putnam Hospital, Palatka. The son of Bennie and Ida Mae (Robinson) Alexander, Sr., he was born on Friday, February 23, 1951. He was a 1969 graduate of Central Academy High School. Bennie formerly attended Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, Palatka. He was formerly employed by McDonalds, China Garden, and Southwells as a maintenance worker and dishwasher. He enjoyed spending time with family, watching tv, and walking. He especially enjoyed gardening. Palatka Housing Authority recognized him for having the best garden.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his maternal grandparents, Horace and Elma Robinson; paternal grandparents, Rufus and Lula Mae Alexander; nephew, Dezi Alexander.
He leaves to cherish his memories: sisters, Juanita (Bobby) Wilson, Kara L. Alexander; aunts and uncles, James (Sonny) Robinson, Sarah Alexander-Fyles; niece, DeShawnda Alexander; nephews, mar"C"uss Dorsey, Ira Dixon, Sr.; great nephews, Cachet Alexander, Jerod Hope, Dezi Alexander, Jr., Darrin Wilford, Ira Dixon, Jr., Isaiah Dixon, Dezmontea Alexander; great nieces, Marlana Alexander, Maejuan Alexander, Charnese Turner, Idacia Jackson, Idecla Jackson, Adahlia Dixon, Teriaa Alexander; godchild, Tamara McGee; and a host of other relatives and friends, including: special cousin, Colette Williams; friend, William Bartley.
Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, December 15 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, December 16 at Zion Temple Church of God in Christ, 1601 Bronson St, Palatka. Supt. Antonio Ruth, Pastor, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery, San Mateo.
