Beneta Weston Saunders Miller, 81, of New Smyrna Beach, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at AccentCare Hospice Center Miami-Kendall, Miami. The daughter of Robert Hall Saunders and Louise Weston, she was born on Friday, March 24, 1944 in St. Petersburg. The family subsequently relocated to St. Augustine, where she received her formal education and later earned a Bachelor's degree from Florida Memorial University. Beneta was a longtime resident of New Smyrna Beach. She was a retired educator who taught in the Volusia County School District for over 30 years. She faithfully served at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church as a Deaconess and Youth Director. Beneta enjoyed traveling and spending time with loved ones.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her sisters, Ermenia Watson and Gaile Henderson.

She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Marjorie Grace (Damian) Lynch; sons, Larry D. (Jessie) Miller, Jr., Robert Miller; 5 grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Saunders-Banks, Sandra Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Beneta's Life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, August 23 at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 214 N. Myrtle Avenue, New Smyrna Beach, Reverend Kenneth Harley, Pastor & eulogist. Interment will follow in Glencoe-Geiger Cemetery, New Smyrna Beach.
