Beatrice "Bea" Smith, 65, native and lifelong resident of Bunnell, entered the sunset of life on Monday, January 23, 2023 surrounded by her loving family at AdventHealth Stuart F. Meyer Hospice Care Center, Palm Coast. The daughter of May Lizer Miller (Smith) & Wilbur Chester Smith, Sr. was born on December 17, 1957. Beatrice was a Cosmetology School graduate and later became a licensed Dietary Cook. She was employed for numerous years at Advent Health Hospital. Her culinary expertise was also displayed in her catering business. Beatrice was a faithful member of Saint James Baptist Church in Bunnell, FL, where she served as President of Hospitality Ministry, Member of Pastor Aide Ministry, Member of Ladies Ministry and Youth Ministry Worker. Her hobbies included jewelry making, arranging flowers, and planning special events.
In addition to her parents, Beatrice was preceded in eternal rest by her daughter, Mary Lee Smith; two brothers, Herman L. Smith and Wilbur C. Smith, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Selena Denise (Samuel) Phillips, Seffner; son, Jonathan Antowoine Smith, Sr., Bunnell; grandchildren , Shykira Antowoinenae Smith, Jonathan Antowoine Smith, Jr., Samaura Keleah Denise Smith, Kamara Joh'na Smith, Samantha Nichole Phillips, Samia Michelle Phillips, Sean Antowoine Smith, Jasesean Reena Smith; great-grandchildren, Xailynn SeKai Collins, JyMir Asiah Smith, Keyshawn Anjuan Davis, Jr., Jaycee Tajah Allen; sisters, Katie L. Turner, Pearl M. Thomas, Vera M. Giddens, Linda L. Smith, Gloria J. Smith, Tracy Johnson; host of godchildren including, Catherine Nicole (Nikki) Hymon, Christopher Holmes, Wendy Jones; aunt, Louise Willis; uncle, Roosevelt Jordan.
Celebration of Bea's Life will be 12 noon, Saturday, February 4 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 75 Pine Lakes Parkway South, Palm Coast, Reverend Edwin Coffie, Pastor, with visitation one hour prior. Bea's Pastor, Dr. P.A. Wilkerson, St James Baptist Church, is the eulogist. Interment will be 1 p.m., Monday, February 6 in Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, Brandon.
