Barbara Ann Harris, 74, of East Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at HCA Florida Putnam Hospital, Palatka. The daughter of Erester White and Elma Degrate White, she was born on Sunday, November 30, 1947 in Palatka. She was educated in the Putnam County School District and a 1964 graduate of Central Academy High School. Barbara was formerly employed with Florida Furniture as a sander for nearly 10 years. She was a member of Universal Truth Ministries, Palatka. Barbara enjoyed playing bingo, scrabble, spades and poker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her nephew, Marvin Fowler.
She leaves to cherish her memories: devoted and loving daughter, Pastor Jekita Ashford-Williams; 3 grandchildren, Erester Ashford (son / grandson), Sheria Murray, Vasheka Williams; 7 great-grandchildren, Elijah Ashford, A'mani Woods, Ky'marria Atterbury, Kassidee Woods, Paris Williams, Londyn, A'sharri Jackson; 4 loving sisters, Beulah James, Linda White, Georgia (Frank) McKinnon, Vivian (Joseph) Jackson Sr.; nieces, L'Teshia (Donald) Baker, Jasmine Jackson; nephew, Joseph Jackson Jr.; great nephews, Darrell Maxwell Sr., J'waun Beauford, Dorianta Beauford, Anthony Seymour, Da'Shan Word, Jacquet Kaymore; godsons, Frank Taylor, Jr. and Michael Shazel, Jr.; special daughter, Shebella Edwards, special son, Irving "Skeet" Ashley, Jr.; special goddaughter, Keiwanna Belton; special grandson, Jeremy Session; close friends, Mary Kaymore-Garrard, Johnnie Medlock; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be 4-6 p.m., Wednesday, April 20 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Celebration of Barbara's Life will be 3 p.m., Thursday, April 21 at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 100 5 th Street, East Palatka. Her daughter, Pastor Jekita Ashford-Williams, is the eulogist. Dr. Geraldine W. McClellan, presiding. Interment will be in Pattersonville Memorial Cemetery, East Palatka.
