Audrey Louise Williams Heard, 62, of Welaka, peacefully entered the sunset of life on Monday, July 4, 2022 at her residence. The daughter of Alfred Williams and Vera Alveda (Lawson) Nelson, she was born on Thursday, July 30, 1959. Audrey was educated in the Broward County School District in in Ft Lauderdale, FL. In 1977, she enrolled in the Job Corps, earning her GED and became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Audrey had an extensive CNA working career in several health and rehabilitative centers and she genuinely enjoyed taking care of those in need. She formerly attended several local churches and was of the Christian Faith. Audrey also loved being with family and friends and enjoying life.
In addition to her parents, Audrey was preceded in eternal rest by her youngest maternal sister, Altamese (Gibbs) McDuffy; paternal brother, Alfred Williams Jr.
She leaves to forever cherish her memories: husband and best friend of 26 years , Kenneth Lamar Heard; children , Earl Nelson, Palatka; Sam Kevin Williams, Welaka; Shanora Smith, Welaka; grandchildren , Darian Nelson, Marena Nelson, Jarone Nelson, Eariol Nelson, Earl Nelson, Destiny Nelson, Q'Juan Nelson; siblings, maternal sister , Sharon Williams Allwood, Palatka; Nora "Candee" (James Saunders) Williams, Jacksonville; paternal sister, Sharon Williams, Sylvania, GA; brother, Larry James Williams, Gainesville; maternal brother , Jeffery Alvin Spates, Welaka; paternal brothers, Troy Jenkins, Dallas, TX; Dondre Jenkins, Ft. Lauderdale; Guan Williams, Rochester, NY; paternal great aunt , Verna Moore, Pooler, GA; and a host of great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and other loved ones.
Public visitation will be from 9-11 a.m., Saturday, July 9 with a Celebration of Life at 11 a.m., at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Reverend Tommy J. Rodgers, pastor of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
