Artis Williams, Sr., 70, of Crescent City, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at UF Health Shands, Gainesville. The son of Hubert Williams and Sadie Pearl Jones, he was born on Wednesday, July 29, 1953 in Crescent City. He was educated in the Putnam County School District and was a graduate of Middleton High School (Crescent City). Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Artis was of the Christian faith. He was a contractor for a potato grading operative. He was also owner-operator of a lawn maintenance and landscaping business. Artis enjoyed going to Church, fishing, dancing and spending time with family, and attending social gatherings.
In addition to his parents, Artis was preceded in eternal rest by his brother and sisters; Leroy Williams, Vernetha Johnson, Anneselene Ward.
Artis leaves to cherish his memories: wife of 16 years, Juanita Denise Williams; daughters, Tangela Williams, Palm Coast; Rashawnna Williams, Orlando; Arlisha Gill (George), Pomona, Park; Artissa Williams, Palatka;, Steryln Williams, Espanola; Nakia Taylor, Longwood.; sons, Jacob (Selena) Williams, Savannah, GA; Ardrae (Diadra) Williams, Pomona Park; Artis (Shanika) Williams, Jr, Crescent City; 28 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lanie Williams, Arnetha Williams; brothers, Douglas Williams, Norris Williams, Eric Williams, Curtis Williams, Sr. Tony Williams; sisters-in-law, Marlene (Michael) Scott, Crescent City; Faye Jones, Ormond Beach; Katrina (Frank) Small, Kissimmee; Consuelo Jones, Kissimme; brothers-in-law; Martin Jones, Antonio Dobson, both of Kissimmee; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and countless other caring relatives.
Visitation of family & friends will be 9:30-11 a.m. with a Celebration of Life commencing at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 3, at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church (South Campus), 608 Randolph St, Crescent City. Elder Jarvis F. Wright, Sr., Pastor, New Saint Paul Church, Seville, officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Crescent City.
