Arthur Lee Ward, Sr., 66, of Jacksonville, entered the sunset of life on Friday, December 15, 2023 at HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital. He was born on Monday, March 25, 1957, in Camilla, Georgia to Jake Ward and Corene Walker. When Arthur was three months old, his mother relocated to Orange Mills, Florida where she married the Reverend Leroy Kaymore, and he raised Arthur like his son. Arthur was self-employed at Ward's Lawn Service. He also retired from Vac-Com in Green Cove Springs.
Over the years he has served at Victorious Faith Church of God in Christ, Pentecostal Church of God in Christ, and Zion Temple Church of God in Christ. Arthur loved listening to and giving advice to people. Arthur found great inspiration in his favorite song, "Falling in Love with Jesus." Arthur loved watching football and basketball games. His favorite sports teams were the Florida Gators, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Miami Dolphins.
In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in eternal rest by his first wife of 28 years, Pamela Thomas Ward; siblings, Laquisha Kaymore and Douglas Kaymore; and mother-in-law, Mother Roberta Francis.
He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife of 11 years, Trina Francis Ward; sons and daughters, Arthur Ward, Jr., Artavious (Jocelyn) Ward, Sr., of Palatka, Donte (Shayla) Ward, of Kansas; Aniyah Ward, Aaliyah Ward, both of Jacksonville; siblings, Larry (Peggy) Walker, Leroy (Martha) Kaymore, Jr., Marvin Kaymore, Sr., Shirley (Eddie) Davis, Barbara (Arthur) Merritt, Carol Kaymore, Frederick Kaymore, Roy Fuqua, Edward Fuqua, Alma (Jimmy) Lewis, Mary Ward, Gwendolyn Florence, Cenetha & Leatha Ward, Mela Ward, David (Sherri) Ward, Jake Ward, Heith Ward; sisters-in-law, Audrey Smith and Tina Days; brothers-in-law, Charlie (Linda) Francis, Terry Francis, and Reverend Rodney (Leah) Francis, Sr.; 15 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held 11 a.m.- 1 p.m., with Homegoing Celebration commencing at 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Supt. Antonio V. Ruth, Zion Temple COGIC, Pastor, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
