April Renee Davis Grant, 47, of Jesup, GA (formerly of Palatka), entered the sunset of life on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Southeast Georgia Health System - Brunswick GA Campus. The daughter of Lorenzo "L.V." and Virda Mae (Bellamy) Smith, was born on Sunday, October 6, 1974. April was educated in the Putnam County School District and was a 1994 graduate of Palatka High School. For many years, April worked in healthcare as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Putnam County, Florida, and Wayne County, Georgia, until her health declined. April was a member of Morning Glory Baptist Church of Jesup, Georgia, where she served as an usher. April enjoyed being a glamour girl, coming home to spend time with her family, having family cookouts, eating crabs, and volunteering at her sister, Ann's daycare - God's Little Creations.
In addition to her parents, April was preceded in eternal rest by her grandparents, Jimmie and Mary Bellamy; uncle, Jimmie Bellamy, Jr.; aunt, Verdelle Brooks; sister, Tanglar Dallas; and cousins, Tammy Bellamy, Latanglar Hart, and Tomeka Sailor.
April leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted husband of six years, Antonio Grant of Jesup, GA; son, Dyshawn (Niesha) Davis of Ft. Leonard, MO; stepson, Savian Grant of Brunswick, GA; sisters, Angelia (Wilbert) Hough, Palatka and Belinda (Russell) Williams, both of Orlando, and Katrina (Williams) Peeples of Satsuma; brothers, Lorenzo (Katrina) Smith III of Palatka, Bryan (Arneifa) Smith of East Palatka and Lorenzo Vernon (Pamela) Smith, Jr., of Palatka; aunts, Floritta Williams and Muriel Brown, both of Palatka; father-in-law, James Grant of Jesup, GA; in-laws,
Tonya (Samuel) Mobley, Denise Mckinnely, Ulyess (Anitra) Grant, and James (Ava) Grant; grandkids, Jaden Davis, Elijah Shuman, and Aspen Wagner; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, including special friends, Katrina Barnes-Walker, Roshunta Baker, and Shaquitta Watson.
Public Visitation: 6:30-8 p.m., Friday, July 1, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity". Celebration of Life: 11 a.m., Saturday, July 2, at Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church, 1501 Bronson Street, Palatka. Rev. Daniel Smith is the eulogist. Interment: Oak Hill West Cemetery.
