Anthony Corzell Hines, Sr., 50, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at his residence. A native and life-long resident of Palatka, he was born on Tuesday, January 1, 1963 to Acy & Sarah (Garvin) Hines, Sr. He was educated in the Putnam County School District (Palatka High School). Anthony was employed in Front Service Personnel with Publix and subsequently retired after 26 years of service. Anthony was always gentle, respectable, and became well known and loved by countless customers he encountered. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on his prized automobiles. In addition to his mother, Anthony was preceded in eternal rest by his maternal and paternal grandparents; uncle, Roscoe D. Hines, and aunt, Ethel Mae Bryant. Those who cherish his loving memories: devoted father, Acy Hines, Jr., East Palatka; daughters, Robin S. (Brandon) Worthy, Boynton Beach, FL; Toni M. (Demarius) Allen, Palm Coast; Ti'Kesha Hines; Sanford; sons, Anthony C. Hines, Jr., Tuscaloosa, AL; Tramel Kiser, Orlando; sister, Wanda Hines, Sanford; brothers, Acy "Butch" Hines, III and Bobby Fleming, Sanford; Gerald William Hines, East Palatka; uncle, Edward D. (Lillian) Hines, Palatka; 9 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; cousins, other relatives and caring friends. The Hines family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, January 26. The Celebration of Anthony's Life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity" 2400 Madison Street, Palatka. Superintendent Jimmie L. Lewis, Sr., pastor of Holy Church of Zion Church of God in Christ, Armstrong, FL., is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
