Annie Ruth Williams, 64, of Gainesville (Formerly of Ruskin, FL), entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Shands at the University of Florida, Gainesville, following an extended illness. A native of Lake Park, GA., she was the first of five daughters born to Earnest & Ada Mae (Dickerson) Marshall. She was educated in the Madison County Florida Public School system. While residing in Sumter, South Carolina, Ruth was an administrative assistant, formerly employed by Wachovia Bank and Sumter County Tax Collectors office. She was also an avid seamstress, owning and operating her own dress making business for many years. She was a member of First Prospect Missionary Baptist Church Wimauma, FL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her children; Janice Sharlene Williams Murphy, Pamela A. Williams and James C. Williams Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories; loving daughter; Felicia D. Bookert, Charlotte, NC; sisters; Coma Coleman; Tina Johnson, both of Gainesville; Judy Gardner; Dorothy Dot Lee both of Tampa; 6 grand-children, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Friday, October 21st and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the "Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing Celebration will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the "Chapel of Serenity." Pastor Tony B. Harris, of First Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, is the eulogist.
