Mother Annette Katurah Ellington Gardner, 67, of Palatka, transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Wednesday, May 21st at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Palatka and was the eldest child of ten born to the union of Deacon Leroy & Annie Ruth (Smith) Ellington, Sr., on Monday, August 26, 1940. She was a 1958 graduate of Central Academy High School and a 2005 graduate of the Destiny Bible College. Annette was a longtime loyal employee of the Masters family and the Masters Funeral Home for over 25 years. She was a devoted member of To God Be the Glory Holiness Church for over three decades where she served the Lord with great joy. Among the numerous ministries she actively participated in were the Mothers Board (president) and the Pastors Aide Board (president). Because of Mother Gardners commitment to the Lord, her church and pastor, she also served many years as the Pastors nurse. She had a compassionate heart for others and was a committed prayer warrior. Preceding her in eternal rest in addition to her parents; daughter, Linda Delancy; brother, Calvin Ellington; sisters, Vera & Karen Ellington. To cherish her memories: husband, James Chuck Gardner, Jr., Kingsland, GA., Children, Beverly J. (Minister Artis) Allen, Mark Edward Delancy, both of Palatka; Angel Charon Sherese Gardner, Jacksonville; Sisters and Brothers, Leroy Ellington, Jr., Palatka; Dorothy Ellington Williams, Jacksonville; Evangelist Edward Kennedy Kenny (Judy) Ellington, Hastings; Pastor Patricia Ellington (Pastor Gary) Stern, Chicago, Ill., Robert Ellington & Clifford Ellington, both of Palatka; Patrick (Maybelle) Copeland, East Palatka;
eight grandchildren, Niya, Artricia, Donta, Alterial, ALeshial, Adrian, Avonta, and Darien; two great-grandchildren, TyVorus and Amari; uncle, Elder Joseph Doc Smith, Miami; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, spiritual sisters, spiritual brothers, classmates, numerous other relatives and caring friends. Visitation of family & friends will be Wednesday, May 28th from 5-8 p.m. at the Chapel of Serenity. Homegoing services will be 1 pm Thursday, May 29th at To God Be the Glory Holiness Church, 3521 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, Dr. Ruth Lowe Reaves, pastor, eulogist. Rev. Dr. George E. McRae, Sr., pastor of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, Miami, presiding. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery, Palatka
