Amos Andrew Green, 61, of Green Cove Springs, entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, November 21, at his residence following an extended illness. A native and lifelong resident of Green Cove Springs, he was born on Thursday, June 7, 1951 to Perkin & Lily (Kenney) Green. He was educated at Clay High School (Class of 1969) where he played high school football. He was a former member of New Bethel Baptist Church, under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Abram Marshall, Pier Station. He was united in marriage to the former Elizabeth L. Johnson on December 10, 1983. Amos was a mechanic, a handyman, and was self-employed in masonry construction and home improvement. He was also an avid football fan. He was preceded in eternal rest by his father Perkin Green. Those who cherish his memories, wife, Elizabeth L. Green, Green Cove Springs; sons, Ardonius Green and Andrew Green, both of Green Cove Springs; daughter, Nikki Jimerson, Cola, SC; mother, Lily Green, Penney Farms; brothers, Allen Green, St. Petersburg; Peter (Pastor Ezella) Green, and Jimmy Green, both of Penney Farms; sisters, Callie (Robert) Bennett, Penney Farms; Sandra Brown, Orange Park; grandchildren, Keandre Jimerson and Dexavier Bookman, Cola, SC; brother-in-law, Raymond Johnson (Diane), Middleburg; sisters-in-law, Edna Lewis and Sarah (Roosevelt) Sanks, Green Cove Springs; special friend, Fred Thompson, St. Petersburg; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Homegoing Celebration will be 1 p.m. Saturday, December 1st at Mt Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, 1300 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Green Cove Springs, Rev. Robert L. Wright, pastor is the eulogist. Interment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Green Cove Springs.
