IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alonzo
Walker
October 6, 1961 – September 20, 2023
Alonzo Walker, the son of Arthur Lee Whipple, Sr. and Jerelene (Walker) Whipple, was born on October 6, 1961 in Fitzgerald, GA. He was educated in the Putnam County School District at Crescent City Jr-Sr High. Alonzo was a member of Victory Worship Center in Crescent City, Florida under the leadership of Pastor Vincent Oliver and Apostle Lillie Tuggerson and served as the church landscaper. Alonzo was a devoted Christian and family man. It didn't matter where he was; he was always down for a good laugh. He would embark on numerous family vacations trips just to fulfill his joy for traveling and love for his family time.
Alonzo was never a man to sit around as he was always on the move working around the house, helping a friend or headed to pick up the kids from school. He was a self-employed landscaping entrepreneur for over 14 years.
Alonzo lived life to the fullest; he had a natural purpose for planting and enjoyed watching sports with family and friends, especially the Miami Hurricanes. His love for family and friends was abundant, as he frequently expressed his love for togetherness. Alonzo interacted with and touched many lives. He will forever be remembered for these gifts, memories, and unconditional love he left behind.
In addition to his parents, Alonzo was preceded in eternal rest by his brothers, SSG Stayce Lamar Whipple, Sr. and Alphonso Whipple, Sr.
Alonzo Walker peacefully entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at his residence.
He leaves to cherish many memories of a life well-lived: devoted wife of 23+ years, Shelia Walker, Crescent City; sons, Christian Walker, Orlando; Kendall Walker, Ft. Stewart, GA; Adarrius Baker, Sr., Crescent City; daughters, Vasnia Whipple, Deland; Amaria Lyles, Tallahassee; 4 grandchildren, Adarrius Baker, Jr., Sevyn Williams, both of Deland; Ariyah Baker, Kash Whipple, both of Crescent City; brothers, Wayne (Natona) Whipple, Palatka; Arthur Whipple, Jr., Orlando; Raymond Whipple, Ocala; sisters, Mae A. Whipple, Crescent City; Vivian Whipple, Palm Coast; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be 5-6 p.m., Friday, September 29 at Victory Worship Center, 1022 Huntington Road, Crescent City. Celebration of Alonzo's Life will be 2 p.m., Saturday, September 30 at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church (South Camus), 608 Randolph Street, Crescent City. Apostle Lillie Tuggerson is the eulogist. Interment will be in Eden Cemetery.
